Frequently Asked Questions
I have questions or concerns who can I talk to?
You are always welcome to [Contact us] with any questions that you may have. We would be happy to help.
What precautions are being taken in regards to COVID-19?
We are committed to the safety and well being of our Scouts whether it is on the trail or in the classroom. Rest assured that we will continue to monitor the situation and always conduct ourselves in accordance with CDC guidelines and the State of Indiana in regards to health and safety.
Is my daughter welcome to join?
Yes! Pack 126 is family friendly and we pride ourselves on having both girls and boys working alongside each other in our Dens.
How do we sign up?
We are always welcoming new scouts. You may see us at the beginning-of-year school events as we try to get the word out. If you missed us, send us an email or check out the Calendar and join us at our next meeting.
Do you wear uniforms?
All scouts in Pack 126 will be provided a Pack T-shirt (Class B), neckerchief, slide and a set of patches to put on their own Official Scout Uniform Shirt (Class A). The easiest way to purchase a Class A shirt is though the Scout Shop. Scouts are expected to wear their Class A uniform to our Pack meetings. Shirts should be tucked into a pair of non-leisure shorts or pants along with their neckerchief and slide. Class B shirts should be worn to Den meetings. Please refrain from wearing open-toed shoes.
What is included in the dues?
With the payment of dues, you will be able to enjoy all activities that the Pack will participate in. Campground fees, awards, pinewood derby, event food, books, patches and Pack T-Shirts (Class B) are some of the things that are completely included.
What happens if we miss a meeting?
Communication is key. Reach out to your child's Den Leader and check to see if there is any action needed. You may or may not have missed an activity that could count towards an achievement.
Are we required to sell popcorn?
No. You are not required to sell popcorn. However, popcorn sales directly contribute to the health of our Pack. It is not uncommon for a scout to entirely pay their yearly dues with popcorn sales alone.
What if our family can not [FILL IN THE BLANK]?
Whatever your situation may be, we ask that you communicate with Pack Leadership. We are here to help and will ensure that every scout lives up to our motto: "Do your best".
How can I ensure that my child has a great experience?
The surefire way to get your child involved in the best program possible is to get yourself involved. ALL of our adult leaders are volunteers and started their own journey when they were in your shoes. Many hands make for light work. If you think that you may have a skill that could be utilized, please reach out to a member of leadership. This could be as simple as bringing in a snack for the fellow den members or sharing your idea that might make our Pack even better than it is.
